Saying goodbye to a beloved part of Ashton

Tameside residents have been left saddened after receiving news that a long-standing children’s attraction is being removed from Ashton town centre.

When picturing Market Square, locals often think of the beloved children’s rides that have been enjoyed my generations for decades.

However, following several changes in the town, news has arisen that the roundabout rides will be permanently taken away, with reports that they will be moved to Blackpool.

Seeing speculation of this online, countless Tameside residents have been left both upset and disappointed as they recall their fond memories of visiting Ashton.

It’s a tradition that has lived on for many years, with grandparents taking their children to have fun where they once played themselves.

But it’s a tradition that has now come to an end, with the rides being one of the last memories that people of the town could still relate to today.

Many are hoping that life will be restored to Ashton, so that one day they will return with new fond memories to replace the ones that they have stored away for years.
