The class of 2022 at Rayner Stephens High School have secured the school's best ever GCSE results.

The Dukinfield-based school says the student's results "reflect the hard work and positive changes that have occurred at the school" since joining the Stamford Park Trust in January 2021. 

A statement said: "As a school we have delivered significant improvements in results across all subjects including Maths, English and Science. All subjects have delivered fantastic results which is indicative of the exciting changes made since we joined Stamford Park Trust." 

Some of the exceptional individual student performances included:

Hannah Carr - achieving 8 GCSEs, 7 at grade 7 and above including 4 grade 9s.

Millie Sigley - achieving 8 GCSEs, 7 at grade 8 and above including 2 grade 9s.

Izzy Hobson – achieving 7 GCSEs, 6 at grade 7 and above including 5 grade 8s.

Ebony Varey Ward - achieving 8 GCSEs, 4 at grade 7 and above including 2 grade 8s.

Headteacher Martin Davies reflected on his first year at Rayner Stephens, saying: “I am incredibly proud of our students, who have demonstrated outstanding resilience and application in order to achieve an excellent set of results that allows them to begin the next step of their journey into further education or training. Despite the challenges faced by all students over the last two years we are incredibly proud of the hard work and maturity shown by our class of 2022.

"I must also thank our amazing staff who have helped guide our students incredibly well throughout the last five years and have demonstrated the fabulous standards of education, care and support that we pride ourselves on at Rayner Stephens.

"It is fantastic to see so many of our students planning to continue their education at sixth form college, many choosing to remain within Stamford Park Trust and studying at Ashton Sixth Form College." 

Rayner Stephens joined Stamford Park Trust, a multi-academy Trust led by Ashton Sixth Form College, in January 2021.

The school said in a statement: "Stamford Park Trust gives us the opportunity to do things differently, to develop and form collaborative approaches to teaching and learning to provide an outstanding quality of education to all students in the Trust.

"Whichever, route our students have chosen to take they will always be part of our family at Rayner Stephens and we wish them all the success in their futures."
