Plans have been submitted to Tameside Council for the installation of an external defibrillator to the Sisters' Street elevation of the Moravian College at Fairfield Square in Droylsden.
The application is made on behalf of the Moravian Church and planning permission must be sought due to the building's Grade II listed status.
A 'Design and access statement' for the proposed lifesaving device states it will be one recommended by the British Heart Foundation for external applications.
The proposed location is in a position where it will be easily accessible 24/7 by anyone in an emergency.
It will be visible at night due to its proximity to nearby street lighting and accessible by all existing roads and footpaths. It will also be visible from nearby houses.
It is also described as being in a position where it can be connected to the necessary electrical supply from inside the Moravian College.
Information is also submitted by the British Heart Foundation.
Tameside Council is considering the plan.
