Noah's A.R.T crowdfunder to help fund exciting move

Charity Noah's A.R.T. is on the move from its Dukinfield HQ to new premises in Hyde.

Services at the Dukinfield centre remain in place until the end of this month, but from 5 September the charity will be based at its new home - 1-9 Borough Arcade, Hyde.

Noah’s A.R.T. was founded in 2015 and has been based at the Together Centre in Dukinfield, its mission to utilise the benefits of the human-animal bond to improve mental health and wellbeing in Greater Manchester and Tameside.

The charity and its services has grown and it offers outreach visits to hospitals, schools, nursing homes and community groups, as well as running one-to-one animal-assisted sessions.

The charity has set up a Crowdfunding campaign in the hope of raising £5,000 to help with funding some costs associated with the move.

To ensure the new space is suitable for the charity to continue its work supporting people, it needs:

• Non-slip, heavy duty vinyl flooring throughout that is easy to clean and suitable for working with animals.

• Divider walls - to ensure privacy during one-to-one therapy spaces.

• Help with the costs of moving and safely transporting all the animals, hutches, equipment and furniture from the current base to the new address.

Charity founder Sharon Hall said: “We are really excited about the move and to be in the centre of things and hope this will make us even more accessible for our beneficiaries as we are a short walk from the bus station.

“We will continue to provide one-to-one well-being sessions as well as our animal-inspired art groups and our dog café on a Friday morning.

“We will also have more opportunities for volunteers in our animal welfare team as well as recruiting to our visiting teams, bringing animal joy and antics to care homes, hospitals and schools.”

Sharon added: “We have a large open plan space and are hoping to fund flexible partition walls for our one-to-one spaces and to be able to open up the new space for social groups and community activities to make the best use of the space.”

Sharon said the costs associated with the move  are expensive for a small family-run, community-based, not-for-profit charity, so the crowdfunder has been set up to help and everyone’s help and donations are much appreciated.
