Hyde music venue shows off lockdown makeover as doors reopen

Hyde's hottest music and food venue is back in business and inviting everyone to pop in and see the changes they've made.

The creative space and café were closed for almost 8 months, but the team used the time wisely creating a brand-new menu and a host of exciting activities for the months ahead.

Belinda Hodson, Café Verde’s newest host, is the talent behind a tasty vegan and vegetarian menu.

Open from 10am to 3pm, Monday to Saturday, Café Verde will be serving up sandwiches, toasties, soups, milkshakes and homemade cakes.

Dishes of the day are also available, which could be anything from chickpea and spinach curry to Moroccan tagine or Greek bean stew.

Live music returns to the venue from July 24, kicking off with Tom Hingley and his band. To aid ventilation for the gigs, external doors will remain open and the bar extractor will be permanently on.

Jackie Francis, founder of POP, added: “It’s all systems go in the new look POP; we are so pleased to say we’ve reopened at long last.

“Our ‘new look’ video which showcases our café and shop was viewed almost 2000 times in a matter of hours and we’ve had hundreds of positive responses and comments to our social media posts. To all the visitors that told us how fab we looked - a huge thank you.

“To see every table taken and the cafe sold out of items on our re-opening day (July 19) was amazing. We couldn’t have had a better start.”

Jackie also took the time to thank those involved in keeping POP afloat through the pandemic by crowdfunding, supporting and volunteering.
