Have a heart this Mothering Sunday

Angie Wild, a Community Mental Health Development Worker at Ashton's Anthony Seddon Fund, will have mums in mind this Mother's Day.

Angie (pictured), an active fundraiser, will be giving out little pocket hugs this Sunday to those who are struggling with their mental health and who just need someone to show they care.

Angie explained: “Alex Newman, one of our trustees, has kindly made the pocket hugs for our charity.

“Mother’s Day is a special day and some people have lost their mums and find the day really difficult. I am hoping this will cheer people up.”

Alex is also making Easter cards too and you can find out more at https://www.facebook.com/onegirlandherhook

Meanwhile, coffee and gift shop Florence and Amelias in Stalybridge are also offering residents the opportunity to send out a special message to their mums this Mothering Sunday. It follows a similar successful initiative for Valentine’s Day.

They are offering the opportunity to send in a message on one of postcards for £1 which will then be shared in the shop window.

You can send your mum, aunt, nan or gran or just someone who you want to let them know you are thinking of them.

For more details see the Florence and Amelia’s website at https://www.florenceandamelias.co.uk/ or Facebook page.

All profits raised from the sale of the cards will go straight to the Ashton-based charity which does amazing work within Tameside supporting people and their mental health.
