Family friendly fundraiser for Florence in Dukinfield

Florence Croce.

A major fundraiser for Dukinfield youngster Florence Croce comes to the town next month.

As we have previously reported, Florence has Late-Infantile Gangliosidosis, or GM1, a genetic disorder that progressively destroys the brain and spinal cord, slowly taking away her ability to walk, talk and swallow.

Since her diagnosis, Florence’s family and friends have been tirelessly raising funds so they can ensure Florence gets the best treatment possible and can enjoy life to the fullest.

Donations also contribute towards adaptations to Florence’s house so that she can stay with her family as long as possible and make memories with her brother Riccardo.

Major fundraising events have taken place, with even MP Andrew Gwynne braving a sky dive and Tameside Radio team members braving a Zip Wire challenge in Wales in the past.

However, the countdown is now on for the next fundraiser when the Made In Manchester Festival returns to Dukinfield.

The family friendly event is being held to support Dukinfield Town FC, Dukinfield Youth JFC and also Fundraising for Florence.

A mix of some of the finest local original talent with some of the UK’s best Manchester tribute bands will be appearing at the festival, and there will also be bars, a food village, fairground rides and all day live music!

The festival is being staged at Astley Sports Village, Dukinfield, on Saturday 28 May, with Tameside Radio’s Dave Sweetmore hosting and DJing on the main stage on the day.

Tickets are available now via the Made In Manchester Festival website or visit the Made In Manchester Facebook page for more information about the event and the bands performing.
