Dukinfield comes together to support Ukraine

HELPING UKRAINE: Cllr Jackie Lane (front right) with members of the Together Centre's Freedom Club.

The Together Centre in Dukinfield has come together to play their part in helping provide aid to the emergency Ukraine appeal.

Dukinfield councillor Jackie Lane is behind the initiative at the centre, with a collection point established in the reception area.

Items for the appeal can be taken along at any time during the centre's opening hours, which are Monday to Saturday 9.30am to 3.30pm.

All of the items will be regularly taken across to the Ukrainian centre in Ashton by Jackie, where she has many links, to ultimately be taken out to Poland and Ukraine.

There has been a remarkable response to the appeal, with enormous quantities being donated and items that are especially requested include children's clothes, nappies, toiletries and sanitary products.

"We will keep the collection point open at the centre for as long as the crisis continues and thank everyone who has donated so far," said Jackie.
