Five people in Denton have woken up to a very pleasant surprise this morning - they have landed themselves a windfall of £1,000 each thanks to their lucky postcode.
The Norton Avenue neighbours picked up the cash prize when M34 2JJ was announced as a People’s Postcode Lottery Daily Prize winner on Wednesday 27th May.
Matt Johnson, one of the People’s Postcode Lottery ambassadors, sent his well wishes to those playing with the lucky postcode. He said:
“A huge congratulations to our winners in Denton today! I’m sure the windfall will help lift their spirits and I hope they can treat themselves to something special.”
A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £500 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.
This draw was promoted by Amnesty International UK, which has received more than £8.1 million in funding to help protect women, men and children wherever justice, freedom, truth, and dignity are denied.
Lots of local good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support. The next opportunity for local charities to apply for funding raised by players will be in August.
