Cracking Easter egg donation

Hyde-based Sandwich Angels have received a cracking Easter boost thanks to estate agents Indlu.

The non-profit food donation service, which delivers food boxes throughout Tameside, was delighted to receive 200 Easter eggs from the business which will be delivered to local families.

Sandwich Angels founder Christina Howard said: “It was a lovely  surprise as we have a very high number of children in struggling families and we are very grateful to Indlu for helping us.”

Mark Burns, Director of Indlu Estate Agents, based in Denton, said: “We felt we had to support Sandwich Angels’ Easter Eggs appeal and we are delighted that they have now joined the new ‘Our Town’ initiative, designed to help local charities, community groups, schools and junior sports clubs during the enforced lockdown period.”

Lisa Martin, Sandwich Angels’ champion/manager, said: “All of our volunteer  members are unpaid and not government-funded and so we rely entirely on public donations.

“These 200 Easter eggs are a godsend as some weeks we deliver 162 food boxes and most of the cases have between two to five children, so we are over the moon with Indlu’s fantastic  donations.”
