Audenshaw school says goodbye to longest serving staff member

A primary school in Audenshaw has said a sad farewell to its longest serving member of staff.

Julie Miller has been at St Stephen’s for more than 28 years.

She has seen many changes, but over that time she has taught some of the children’s parents and even members of staff from the school.

Headteacher at the Audenshaw Road school, John Shelton, said: “We are so sorry to say goodbye to Mrs Miller after more than 28 years of faithful service to our school and community.

“All our children, some of their parents and even some of our own staff have been taught by Mrs Miller over the years and her care, professionalism and big, big heart have always been the hallmark of her work.

“We wish her all the very, very best!”

THANK YOU: Headteacher John Shelton says goodbye to teacher Julie Miller alongside Chair of Governors Chris Prince and Jenni Grundy and pupils at the school.

Joining her to say a fond farewell was Jenni Grundy, who was taught by Julie when she was just four years old.

Chair of Governors Chris Prince also attended a special presentation as the school said a special thank you to Julie.
