A new art exhibition has been officially unveiled at a Mossley bar.
The Gillery on Old Brow is hosting works from local artists Phil Wagstaff and Simon Mound.
Gillery owner Dermot Gill told the Reporter: "I bought the old derelect Royal Bank of Scotland after it has been empty for four years. My idea was to turn it into a bar and gathering place for artists and musicians.
"We regularly have bands on here and now we’ve launched the art side of it. Phil and Simon are displaying their works at the Gillery and after a while will rotate their artworks so new items are displayed.”
Artist Phil Wagstaff added: “I’ve been working on this project since February and I’ve now completed around 60 pieces to display. My work on display mainly features the history of local industry which has led to me becoming really interested in it. I exhibited similar works in the past and had a really positive response to it.
“If anyone sees an art work they like, they can buy a print of it. I feel strongly that art should be affordable to people, especially in their current financial climate. I think it’s great that Dermot has given Simon and myself this opportunity to display our art to people.”
Dermot says he will continue to exhibit art works in the future.
