Appeal launched to locate a man and woman in Ashton

An urgent appeal has been launched to locate a man and woman in Ashton.

Shortly before 11pm on Tuesday (15 August), Police received reports of a sighting of a young woman forced into the back of a small silver car by a man on Taunton Road in Ashton.

Enquiries suggest that the pair may have had an argument in the moments prior to the altercation, before the car drove off towards the Oldham direction.

Detectives are working to establish the circumstances but are keen to stress that their priority is to ensure the welfare of the woman and man.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the pair, as well as anyone who may have been driving in the vicinity of the Dog and Partridge pub.

You can contact GMP on 0161 856 9262 or via the LiveChat facility here, quoting incident 4013 of 15/08/2022.

Details can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
