Droylsden played their final game of the regular season last Saturday, with a thrilling nine-goal encounter with Staffordshire side Eccleshall.

The Bloods had already confirmed their place in the playoffs but still provided fans with an entertaining match just before their push for promotion.

There were six goals in the first half, with Joel Ankers opening the scoring in the 7th minute following a cross from AJ Warburton. However, the Eagles equalised only six minutes later through Liam Hallam.

Fuad Kasali then made it 2-1 with his first goal since returning from injury before Nelson Van made it three just a minute later, profiting from a wayward clearance and finishing well.

Eccleshall once again responded quickly, this time the goal coming from Danuel Shelley with an outrageous long-range effort. But Droylsden added a fourth only minutes after the restart, Kasali grabbing his second of the match with an outstanding finish of his own.

Kasali then turned provider in the second half, driving forward before providing the ball to his strike partner Van to score his brace. But Eccleshall for a third time in the match scored soon after, Harry Baggaley this time with the goal.

Top goal scorer George West also made his return to the pitch in the 81st minute, coming on to replace Joel Ankers.

It was the visitors who then had the final say in proceedings, Kyle Diskin grabbing Eccleshall’s fourth and final goal.

An unbelievable game of football at the Butchers Arms Ground and the perfect warm-up ahead of a massive weekend for Dave Pace's side.

They travel to Stockport Town on Saturday for their play-off semi-final tie.
