Oldham Sports Awards nominees confirmed

The Oldham Sports Awards is returning to the borough on Friday, September 20 at The Queen Elizabeth Hall.

The ceremony has taken place every year since 2002 and is held to celebrate, recognise and reward local people for their contributions to sport across the borough.

The nominees for each category are listed below:


Community Initiative Award:

School Commitment to PE and Sport Award:

Sports Achiever of the Year:

  • Bethany Brierley (Marshall fencing)


Volunteer of the Year:


  • Ian Ward (Santos AFC)
  • Pam Hazelton (Oldham Netball Club)
  • Kirsty Mallen (Chadderton Park Sports Club)
  • David Murgatroyd (Oldham Roughyeds)


Club of the Year:


  • Isaan Muay Thai
  • Oldham and District Riding Club

Workforce Advocate Award:
