Oldham man banned from the road

Tameside magistrates have banned an Oldham man from the road for 18 months.

Samee Alam was stopped on Ashton Road, Oldham, but later refused to give a specimen of blood for analysis when suspected of having committed a driving offence.

The 24-year-old admitted the charge, plus driving a car without insurance cover.

The charges related to an incident on March 12 this year.

Magistrates fined him a total of £220, plus ordered him to pay £85 court costs and a victim surcharge of £34. His address was given as Pitt Street, Oldham.
