How the Queen's funeral will affect High Peak bin collections

High Peak Borough Council has confirmed that bin collections will change next week due to Her Majesty the Queen's funeral.

The state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II will take place on Monday (19 September), which has been declared a bank holiday across the UK.

The borough council has said that arrangements will be in place to allow staff to pay their respects on the day of the funeral.

As a result, green-lidded bin collections will be suspended from Monday (19 September) to Friday (23 September).

Black and brown bin collections due to take place on Monday will be caught up during the rest of the week. Residents are asked to put their bin out and leave it out so it is able to be emptied when staff return to work.
