A newly elected councillor has become the Mayor of High Peak.
Peter Inman, who represents the Sett ward, was nominated by Councillor Fiona Sloman to take on the role for the next 12 months.
She said although he was a newly elected councillor, he was someone who was very active in his local community and involved with a number of organisations.
Cllr Inman - who succeeds Padfield councillor Ollie Cross in taking on the mayoral chains - said it was a huge honour and privilege.
He added: “Some may say being first elected on the council is enough responsibility and to take on the mayoral role could be considered utter madness, but the decision was easy for me - in fact it was one of the easiest decisions I have made.”
Councillor Stewart Gardner, from Simmondley, was made Deputy Mayor.
Lois Blackburn and Melissa Gardner were appointed Mayoress and Deputy Mayoress respectively.
