Chapel Camera Club exhibition to go on display in Buxton

Buxton Museum and Art Gallery on Terrace Road in Buxton.

Self-portraits taken during lockdown will form part of a new photography exhibition by Chapel Camera Club, which will be unveiled this week.

Twenty Twenty… and Beyond will open on Saturday 5 March and will run until 2 May at Buxton Museum and Art Gallery.

The award-winning camera club is featuring 30 self-portraits from its Arts Council’s funded project, ‘Living Through Lockdown - Personal Perspectives in Photographs’.

In addition, the photographic display includes 48 prints which illustrate the breadth of work of the club’s talented members.

The exhibition will also showcase the winning images from over 150 entered in the ‘Summer People’s Photo Competition’ will also be displayed.

Vice Chair Ann Carter said that the club were very pleased to be making a donation from a proportion of the competition’s entry fees to Blythe House Hospicecare.

Each Saturday afternoon, during the exhibition, the club is holding ‘Meet the Photographer’ sessions.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet members to find out more about the club’s weekly events programme, mentoring opportunities, and to talk about their own projects, or just photography.

Buxton Museum and Art Gallery, located on Terrace Road, is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
