Black tie ball boosts defibrillator funds

Last Saturday a black-tie event was held to raise money for Glossopdale Community Defibs and after a night packed with entertainment, the event had raised an astonishing amount.

Last week we reported on a fundraising ball being held by Centre Stage Entertainment owners Adam Radcliffe and Megan Elliott, who had collaborated with Chloe Eliott in raising money for Glossopdale Community Defibrillators. The idea to raise the money for Chloes dad had come after her father Mike had been saved by a defibrillator in New Mills.

Fast forward to now, and Chloe cannot believe how well the event went. “The night as a whole was so much more than we could have wished for or expected! We are days in and my phone is still buzzing with people still on a high from that night!” She said.

Chloe is overwhelmed by the support they managed to garner for the night, and said “I never ever expected to get us to the amount we raised and I honestly can’t thank everybody who played a part in the night as a guest, a supplier, a sponsor and anybody who played the smallest part because it all made such a difference. It’s extremely close to home for me but to be able to pull it off alongside my two close friends Adam Radcliffe & Megan Elliott it really is unbelievable!”

Adam Corbally from Glossopdale Community Defibs also reflected on the epic night, saying “it was like walking into Vegas! They had transformed Glossop Cricket Club, there was firebreathers, red carpets, picture boards at the back, it was incredible. The entertainment blew everyone away, the auction was unbelievable, and everyone had a great night.”

Adam also praised the Glossop community for coming out, saying “I am blown away by the generosity and kindness, and that is what I love about this town. People’s generosity never ceases to amaze me - whether it was residents spending a fiver on raffle tickets or people like Glossop Caravans who donated so much.”

The night raised an incredible £22,868 pounds and is still continuing to raise more, with two thousand coming from businesses supplying two new defibrillators on the night. To see more from the incredible night, head over to Heart 2 Heart Fundraising Events Glossops’ Facebook page.
