The Civic Mayor, Cllr Mike Glover, said: “Each November we have the opportunity to remember - and pay tribute - to those who fought for our freedom during the two world wars. We also mourn and honour those who have lost their lives in more recent conflicts.

“Today, with our forces still serving around the world, remembrance events are as important as ever and I urge residents to attend the special ceremonies across our borough and to pay their respects to our brave servicemen and women both past and present.”
