WATCH: New video shows Tameside families supported to overcome adversity

An ongoing initiative that's helping children, young people and families in Tameside overcome adversity is being showcased in a new video.

The informative video has been launched to explain how Tameside’s Early Help Panel works and how it can help and support even more children, young people and families after proving successful across the borough.

The multi-agency panel is part of Tameside Council’s Early Help strategy - which aims to ensure that every child is given the best help and support, the care and attention they need to thrive and develop and for all families to be successful.

It was established in 2018 and consists of a range of Early Help services meeting to identify the best course of action and the support to be given to help children and families overcome adversities. The panel meets weekly to consider all referrals assessed at early help level.

The video was created by the council’s Early Help/Neighbourhoods team to show how the initiative can help children, young people and families, it features professionals who have seen the difference it makes discussing the benefits and families who have benefitted sharing their experience.

Councillor Bill Fairfoull, Tameside Council’s Deputy Executive Leader with responsibility for Children and Families, said: “We are passionate about achieving the best for our children and families, who are at the heart of everything we do.

“The Early Help Panel works in partnership with children, families and professionals to ensure the right support is offered at the earliest opportunity, which empowers families to sustain positive, meaningful change.

“The new video is a great way of showing how the initiative works and how people have benefitted and will help any families in need of help see how they too can receive support.”
