Tameside’s women in business celebrated in successful event by Bromleys Solicitors

Tameside Women in Business (TWIBs) made a triumphant return this week with their first event of 2024, celebrating women in enterprise from Tameside and beyond.

Bromleys Solicitors delivered the popular event at The Restaurant @ Tameside One on Thursday 18th April 2024, a sell out with more than 60 confirmed guests.

The event was completely free of charge to all who attended.

Attendees enjoyed a complimentary lunch made by Catering & Hospitality students, and had the chance to take part in an informal gathering, providing space to network, share experiences and build new and existing business relationships.

Hosted by Louise Nolan, Practice Manager at Bromleys, the event was described by delegates as being ‘inspirational, engaging and thoroughly enjoyable’.

Louise said: “We’ve had a fantastic time at our first TWIBs event of 2024, and we’re pleased to see from our guest’s feedback that the event was enjoyed by all.”

Guest speaker at the event was Vic Elizabeth Turnbull, Founder of MIC media, a multiple-award winning podcast production and training agency. She is also the Co-Founder and Director of Pods Up North, a conference for podcasters. In 2022 and 2023, Vic was named as one of the Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise by Pioneers Post and Natwest.

Vic has been a judge for the British Podcast Awards for the past three years, and The International Women’s Podcast Awards. She has also been a speaker at the Podnews inaugural conference and featured in The Guardian and other press as a podcast expert.

Many companies in the Tameside area and beyond benefited from attending the event, with a resounding majority saying that event was ‘informative, down to earth and really well delivered’.

The event focus certainly struck a chord with those in the room and could see Tameside becoming a new hotbed for business podcasting in the future. With representatives from over 30 organisations in attendance, Bromleys hope to continue bringing women in business a safe and inclusive space to network and collaborate.

The date for the next Tameside Women in Business event is now set and will take place on 12th June 2024. Planning is already underway and following a record-breaking number of attendees, the team behind TWIBs are eager to keep on creating fantastic events for women in business.
