Hyde United FC have played at Ewen Fields for over a century, but this year the 4,500-seat stadium is changing its name.

Project Solar UK, a solar panel installer, have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with the club and secured naming rights to the grounds.

Ewen Fields will be renamed Project Solar UK stadium. The stands and signages are also going to be refreshed for the 2021-22 season.

Director at Project Solar UK, Tom Armstrong, made the decision to sponsor Hyde United after the team needed support to continue playing matches. Tom lives locally and his sons play in the youth teams.

He added: “I made a brief visit to the club and was so impressed with the youth development side of the club and the first team’s ambitious plans that we decided to have further discussions on how we could work together.

“Hyde United FC has a great community spirit, run by a board that really cares about the fans and local community. I am delighted our company can be involved in this long-term project”.

Club Chairman of Hyde United, Steve Hartley, said: “Project Solar UK have many exciting ideas to activate their sponsorship and build a real partnership between now and 2024.

“Thanks to their financial support, we can face a certain future as our first, reserve and junior development teams step up to their pre-season training and prepare for an exciting season ahead.”
