Stalybridge Fire Station to host charity car wash event

The fire station will be hosting an event this Sunday from 10am onwards to raise money for charity.

The firefighters at Stalybridge Fire Station are opening their doors to the public by hosting a charity car wash on Sunday, March 17.

The money collected from the day will be going towards the Fire Fighters Charity, which has been operating for more than 80 years after it was formed during the Second World War to support the bereaved families of firefighters who had died during the Blitz.

Jake Taylor from Stalybridge Fire Station told the Tameside Reporter: "The Fire Fighters Charity look after injured firefighters or retired ones with injuries sustained at work or problems with mental health issues."

The car wash will be operating at the station from 10am onwards.
