Spooky trail in Haughton Green

There promises to be ghostly goings-on in Haughton Green this weekend.

The Eventfull Community Team are holding their fifth annual Spooky Trail, which starts at the bottom of Meadow Lane.

It’s on Friday night and Saturday night, between 6.30pm and 8pm on both evenings.

Locals are invited to begin their Halloween by heading along to the fun event, which will have stalls and a fancy dress competition.

Admission is £1 per person, but youngsters under the age of three go free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

The organisers said in a statement: “Everyone is encouraged to enter into the Spirit of Halloween, with our fancy dress competition. Don't worry....you won't be on your own!  Please do keep in mind, this is an outdoor event, so sensible footwear and warm coat is essential!

“Once you walk to the bottom of Meadow Lane, you will follow our spooky lantern lit trail and come across our friendly ghosts and ghouls. Remember they don't light bright lights, so bring a small torch but they do love having their picture taken.....if you dare to stop long enough!

“If you wish to make something for the trail, enjoy dressing up and want to be a part of the event or just offer help setting up, staffing or with a donation, please do get in touch. We are always on the lookout for help to make these events happen.”
