Remembrance services and ceremonies in Tameside this year

From 11 to 14 November, the communities making up Tameside will be holding services and ceremonies to mark Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday.

Councillor Janet Cooper, the Civic Mayor, said: “More than a century since the First World War ended, and 76 years since 1945, remembrance events remain as important as ever.

“I know residents will wish to pay their respects to our brave servicemen and women past and present, and I welcome that fact.

“However, I would ask them to be mindful that covid is still with us and churches may well be enforcing social distancing. I would advise everyone to take a mask.”
