Police seek information following a pedestrian’s ‘serious injury’ on M60

Officers are appealing for information following a road traffic collision on Monday on the M60 between Ashton and Denton, junctions 23 and 24.

GMP informs: “A vehicle had left the carriageway and spun across the motorway towards the hard shoulder.

The vehicle collided with a pedestrian who was assisting another vehicle.

As a result, the pedestrian suffered serious injuries.”

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) saidAt just after 3pm today (Monday, April 1), three fire engines from Gorton, Stalybridge and Ashton fire stations plus the technical response unit from Ashton fire station were called to reports of a crash involving two cars and a van on the M60 between junction 23 and 24.

“Firefighters assisted colleagues from Northwest Ambulance Service in caring for one female before she was transferred to the hospital. Crews helped make the scene safe and attended for around one hour and twenty minutes.”   

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and help with their enquiries.
