Nine jobs created at new Farmfoods store

Frozen food specialists Farmfoods is joining the growing list of retailers at Lime Square shopping centre in Openshaw.

Work started last week on fitting out the new unit ready for the brand-new store to open in February.

The company has taken a 20-year lease at the centre and is taking an 8,125 sq. ft. unit previously occupied by Wynsors and Tandy Leather fronting Ashton Old Road.

The new store at Lime Square will open on Wednesday, February 5 at 8am and nine jobs, a mixture of full-time and part-time positions, are being created at the centre.

Farmfoods is a family run retailer specialising in great quality frozen food and essential grocery and household products, all at amazing prices.

They stock all the major brands as well as their own exclusive label products.  Founded in Aberdeen in 1954 the family business, now in its third generation, operates from more than 300 stores across the UK.

Lime Square is owned and managed by the Sheffield-based property company Dransfield Properties.

The Wynsors store has been relocated at the centre as part of the improvement works – the shoe retailer can now be found by the rear car park.

Estates Director at Dransfield Properties, James Shepherd, said: “We are delighted to welcome Farmfoods to our line-up of retailers at Lime Square. We know from the feedback we have received from our shoppers that the store will be a really popular addition to the centre.”
