Make a date with Millstream

Furry friends are hoping to raise much-needed funds for a busy animal shelter.

Every year, Millstream Animal Shelter based in Clayton Bridge brings out a calendar with all proceeds from sales going to the animal home.

The shelter asks people who have adopted animals from them to email in a picture of their pet with their name, where they live and a caption.

The shelter usually receives around 300 entries.

Every owner whose pet is chosen to appear in the calendar receives a complimentary copy.

The calendar also has a page dedicated to the animals which can be sponsored at the shelter, plus ways in which people can help.

The calendars cost £5 each and can be collected from the shelter on Millstream Lane where the charity has also opened up a new indoor shop, which is open every day Monday to Saturday 11am till 3pm.

The charity can only accept cash or cheque made payable to Millstream Animal Shelter.
