Lymefield Garden Centre is helping you get into the festive spirit

The festive spirit has well and truly reached Broadbottom, with Lymefield Garden Centre running not one but two Christmas-themed events to keep locals entertained in the run-up to the big day.

There may not be pantomimes to visit this year but the garden centre is making up for it - it's created a new pantomime trail around the village!

It starts this Saturday (12 December) and runs until Monday 31 December.

People are invited to collect a free trail map from the garden centre, to help them find their way around and discover the pantomime-themed clues.

The garden centre has its own Prime Charming, Dames and Fairy Godmother and wants you to be in its gang!

It warns that you will need to keep your eyes peeled for clues as 'they're behind you!' and the final clue will take you to your 'happily ever after ending'.

Participants should bring their own boots as the walk can get muddy, and grown-ups to help.

There's no charge for the trail but people can make a donation to The Christie if they wish after completing it.

Meanwhile, if you're looking for something indoors, visitors can view a Christmas Tree Festival in the Glasshouse and support their favourite decorated tree.

Every year, the garden centre invites local groups and charities to decorate a tree.

This year it features contributions from Broadbottom Primary School, Charlesworth Primary School, Kinderview Children's Day Nursery, Hollingworth Juniors, Glossop Arts Project, Reuben's Retreat, Willow Wood Hospice, The Bureau and more.

Whilst choosing your Christmas tree and fresh traditional wreaths, Lymefield Tea Room has a pop-up takeaway stall outside the garden centre for visitors to enjoy a range of refreshments.

The trees will be on display until New Year's Eve and find out more at https://www.lymefield.com/christmas-tree-festival/
