Local fundraiser ready to take on another epic challenge

Super fundraiser Connor Martin is set to complete another epic challenge in support of The Anthony Seddon Fund.

Last month, the Denton man ran 100km in 28 days and raised £2,655 for the Ashton-based mental health charity.

He went on to undertake a 30-mile bike ride from Manchester to Liverpool.

But it doesn’t end there!

On Saturday (15 May), Connor and his friend Liam are going to be running 4km every four hours for 24 hours.

They’ll start their marathon at The Post Room in Denton.

Connor is eager for others to join him on the run, by dropping him a message on Facebook.

His challenge falls between May 10-16, which is Mental Health Awareness Week in the UK.

The annual event is a chance for people to focus on and talk about their mental health.

This year’s theme for the week is nature. People are encouraged to reconnect with local natural spaces, especially as they’ve played a huge role in good mental health during the pandemic.

Connor’s 24-hour marathon is a chance to raise awareness of the annual event and invite people to join him outdoors.

Angie Wild, Fundraiser and Community Mental Health Development Worker at The Anthony Seddon Fund, said: “Well done to these superheroes. Men and mental health awareness is so important and I’m so proud of them!”
