Connor completes challenge for Tameside charity

Super fundraiser Connor Martin has completed his mammoth running challenge.

As we have previously reported, the running man from Denton set himself the challenge of running 100km in one month to raise money and awareness for the Anthony Seddon Fund - a minimum 3km a day for 28 days.

He says he did it to make sure people knew that help was out there when they are at their lowest - the Ashton-based charity helping those struggling to cope with mental health issues.

His final run saw him cross the finish-line one final time at Salford Quays.

Connor, who gathered more and more support along the way - including from his MP Andrew Gwynne - smashed his target, having so far raised a phenomenal £2,655 for the mental health charity.

He was joined on his journey by friends and well-wishers who have pounded out the miles by his side.

Connor said he would especially like to thank some of the sponsors who have supported him throughout his effort, including Universal Granite UK Ltd, Powerbowlz Manchester, Farnan Bros. Building Contractors Ltd, The CryoLab, No Excuses Training & Liver Apartments, plus of course Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne.

Angie Wild, fundraiser and Community Mental Health Development Worker at the Anthony Seddon Fund paid tribute to Connor’s achievement: “What a truly inspirational man he is and thank you too for supporting us and helping to raise awareness of mental health issues.”

There is still time to support Connor and if you would like to donate just go to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/con-martin
