How one Ashton store is delivering a little extra joy

Ashton's Dunelm store's Christmas campaign is underway with the team appealing to shoppers to help them deliver a little extra joy this festive season.

The store has launched its ‘Delivering Joy’ campaign to provide Christmas gifts to those less fortunate.

Each Dunelm store is collecting shoebox gifts to give to those in their partnered primary school, care home or women’s refuge.

The Ashton store is supporting the Tameside Women And Their Families Centre, based at Cavendish Mill, Ashton, which helps more than 500 women and their children.

Dunelm Community Champion Abbie Higham explained how shoppers can help.

Visitors to the store are encouraged to take a tag from the instore Christmas tree and create a gift box personalised to the information on the label.

Customers are asked to fill a shoebox with the gifts they have found and then drop it back at the store by December 11.

The shoeboxes will then be delivered in time for Christmas. Store staff will sanitise and wrap the boxes.

It is the first year Dunelm has run the campaign, Abbie saying the idea is to help the community in what has been a tough year.
