Last chance to support Ashton's Fiver Fest

Time is running out to support local businesses and take advantage of the Totally Locally Fiver Fest across Ashton.

From 12-26 June, Ashton town centre has been home to Totally Locally’s Fiver Fest, a campaign which gives independent businesses the chance to use their collective powers to encourage people back into our town centres.

This year, more than ever, campaigns like this are vital in the financial recovery of small businesses that suffered during the Covid pandemic.

Val Unwin, leader of Ashton Independent Traders who also co-ordinates the initiative in town, explained the mass benefits of spending just £5 with local companies.

“If every adult in Ashton spent just £5 a week in their local independent shops and businesses, it would mean £9.4m per year going directly into our local economy.

“This can lead to more jobs, a better high street, a stronger economy and a nicer place to live,” she said on the previous event last year.

A selection of local independent traders are taking part in Ashton. Keep an eye out for participating posters, with offers running until today!

So come on down and shop like your high street depends on it, ‘spend a fiver, grab a bargain, support a local shop.’
