Ashton centre is looking for school uniform donations

A community centre in the Waterloo area of Ashton is looking for donations of school uniform for its 'swap shop' during the summer holidays.

The 4C Community Centre, in the grounds of Christ Church between Oldham Road and Taunton Road, opened the shop last month to provide some support with uniform costs and help the environment too by getting more use out of the items.

As part of it, the centre is looking for donations of the following:

  • Trousers for boys aged 7-8
  • Light blue polos aged 7-8
  • Black PE shorts aged 7-8
  • Polos and jumpers for Waterloo Primary School aged 7-8 and 8-9
  • Fleeces for Canon Burrows CE Primary School aged 8-9 and 9-10
  • Size 1 school shoes for girls and boys

There is a box in reception at the centre where donations can be dropped off from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 4pm.

A spokesperson for the centre said: "We are having lots of requests for size 1 school shoes - both boys and girls for the uniform shop.

"If you have some that you can donate, which are in good condition, it really will make a massive difference to some families in our community."
