After wet weather halted the season start, the new Derbyshire County Cricket League finally got underway at the weekend.

Dinting CC vs Hayfield CC

The home team won the toss and elected to field first, putting Hayfield in to bat. Hayfield scored 89 All Out (24.1 overs). Top scorer for Hayfield was Russ Evans with 30 runs, including 4 sixes. Dinting's Riley Downey took 4-13 runs off 8.1 overs.  In response, Dinting scored 92/4 (29.1 overs), with Alfie Joy top scoring on 25 runs. Dinting took the win by 6 wickets. Dinting got 18 points, Hayfield got 2 points.

Dove Holes CC vs New Mills CC

New Mills won the toss and elected to field first. Dove Holes scored 205/9 (using a full 45 overs) with Dan Gilbride knocking an impressive 70 not out. Dove's score was aided by a raft of extras (13 wides) that would have frustrated New Mills' bowlers. Top haul went to Josh Stevens who took 4-44 runs off 12 overs. In response, 

New Mills scored 92 All Out (24.4 overs) with Captain, Daniel Holmes, making 31 not out. Dove bowlers Dave Cartledge took 4-30 and Dan Gilbride took 3-27 from their eight overs each. Dove Holes won by 113 runs. Dove Holes got 20 points. New Mills got 4 points.

Hazel Grove CC vs Broadbottom CC

Hazel Grove won the toss and elected to field first, putting Broadbottom in to bat. Broadbottom scored 58 All Out (24.4 overs) their batsmen never quite got going, under a heavy bowling offensive from the Grove, with Dominic Nunn taking 6-25 off 12 overs. In response, Hazel Grove had a faltering start, with their opening batsman Freddie Wilson out for a golden duck. Broadbottom's Tayyeb Gull restricted them further taking 3-9 off 6 overs (including 2 maidens) but Hazel Grove reached their target and scored 61/5 (24 overs) with Stuart Knott top scoring on 27 runs. Hazel Grove won by 5 wickets.  Hazel Grove got 17 points. Broadbottom got 2 points.

Newton CC vs Old Glossop CC

Old Glossop won the toss and elected to field first. Newton scored 71 All Out (32.1 overs) under fire from Old Glossop's Jamie Kay (4-11 from 9 overs, including 3 maidens) and Tom Lane (3-25 off 7 overs). Top scorer for Newton was Callum Williams with 24 runs. In response, Old Glossop scored 75/4 (20.2 overs) with a solid opening partnership of Dane Froggett (17 runs) and Callan Kean (38 runs). Newton's Paul Littlewood took 3-25 off 7 overs. Old Glossop won by 6 wickets. Newton got 2 points. Old Glossop got 18 points.

Pott Shrigley CC vs Stalybridge CC

The home side won the toss and elected to field first.  Stalybridge scored 71 All Out (26.1 overs) having never really found their stride due to a sustained bowling attack from Pott Shrigley's Andrew Matheson who took 4-17 off 5.1 overs (1 maiden) and Andy Tatton who took 4-26 off 12 overs (3 maidens). In response Pott Shrigley easily knocked off the winning score of 73/1 (10.3 overs) with Simon Rajwer hitting 50 off 33 balls (including 5 fours and 4 sixes). Pott Shrigley won by 9 wickets. Pott Shrigley got 20 points. Stalybridge got 0 points.

Tintwistle CC vs Whaley Bridge CC

Whaley Bridge won the toss and elected to field first putting the home side into bat. Tintwistle scored 72 All Out (29.0 overs) with Atley Williams top scoring on 18. Runs were hard to come by in the face of Whaley's bowling trio, Josh Gibson (3-1 off 3 overs, including 2 maidens), Henry Holden (3-18) and Jake Higginbotham (3-42) all with 3 wickets each. However their success was short lived as, in response, Whaley Bridge could only manage 20 All Out (28.3 overs) as Tintwistle's bowlers struck back, seeing Atley Williams take 3-0 off 2 (both maidens) and Tom Scott take 3-5 off 10 (7 maidens). Tintwistle won by 44 runs. Tintwistle got 15 points. Whaley Bridge got 5 points.
