Dukinfield Golf Club ask people to respect course while using it for exercise

Dukinfield Golf Club has asked people to respect their course while using it for their daily exercise.

Despite the majority of the course being private land, residents have been taking advantage of the empty fairways and beautiful scenery during their daily walks.

And the club want those people, especially dog walkers and cyclists, to be careful where they go and respect the course.

In a social media post, the club said: “In recent weeks, more and more people have been using the golf course for daily exercise.

“At this very difficult time for all, the club is more than happy for local residents to use the golf course for walking and exercising during the period of lockdown.

“All we do ask is that people respect the fact that it is a golf course. Please don’t walk your dogs, ride bikes, push trollies or play football on any of the greens or in the bunkers. And of course, if your dog does the business and you put it in a bag, don’t leave it behind. Please also ensure that you are taking any litter with you.

“These are difficult times and we are at the centre of the community. Please respect our course that our members cannot currently play on. The best of health to everyone.”
