Droylsden bounced back from their defeat on Saturday with a convincing win against Cammell Laird 1907.

A win that takes the Bloods six points clear of Alsager Town and seven points above Cheadle Heath Nomads.

The injury to Fuad Kasali allowed Mitchell Henry to make his Droylsden debut, joining the Bloods from Premier Division side Irlam FC after making 35 league appearances for the Greater Manchester side.

It was a stalemate in the first half as neither side was able to craft anything meaningful. That was until the 38th minute when Caelan Kilheeney opened the scoring, finding space in the box on his least favoured right foot to fire home for Droylsden.

After another quiet opening to the second half, the Bloods doubled their lead after 63 minutes, with Joel Ankers converting from the spot for his first goal for the club.

Substitute Elliot Fenton then made his impact grabbing a quickfire brace. His first came after he rounded the onrushing goalkeeper and slid home his side’s third. Before his long-range effort in the 80th minute sealed a ruthless victory for Dave Pace’s side.

Droylsden next take on First Division North side Euxton Villa in the Semi-Final of the Edward Case Cup.
