Aldwinians host ladies tournament

On Saturday May 25, Aldwinians Ladies held their second annual tournament, inviting women's teams from around the North to join them on a day full of rugby, and luckily Manchester's finest weather.

And what a day it was, the sun shined all day and there were 12 games of rugby played in glorious weather.

The day was a huge success with teams finishing in the finals and being able to grab some silverware.

Ponteland Tigers won the Emily Cup, while Ossett Women picked up the Vase.

Elsewhere Aldwinians Ladies were the winners of the Taylor Wimpey Plate.

For the second year running Taylor Wimpey donated and supported the day, allowing the club to organise the match officials and first aid staff with no pressure.

The rest of the donation will be used to make a start on creating a female and mixed ability changing facilities for the upcoming seasons.
