Ability Counts making progress

Glossop North End Juniors' Ability Counts football has gone from strength to strength since it started in March this year.

Last Friday, the first team photo in the new kit sponsored by Glossop Rotary Club was taken.

The team (pictured) - featuring players aged 14 and above - trains on Friday evenings from 7pm to 8pm at Glossopdale School on Newshaw Lane in Hadfield.

They also enjoyed a session of Futsal indoors at The Place last week.

The team are looking for new players and friendly matches against other teams.

If you are interested, get in touch with Gaz Greenhall by emailing greenhall1974@live.co.uk.

There is also a team for players aged eight and over, who train at the same venue on Fridays between 6pm and 7pm. If you would like to get involved, email Natalie Mills at natalieamills@btinternet.com.

Natalie, Gaz and Tony lead the sessions, supported by Emily, Jason and John, and have seen an increase in participation over the last few months.

A Glossop Juniors statement said: "The Club would like to thank once again the Tom Jordan Foundation and Glossop Rotary Club for all their support in helping establish these sessions in our community and thanks to all the volunteers who make it all possible!"
