Show your support for local shops

People across Oldham who still have some Christmas shopping left to do are being encouraged to shop locally.

The reminder comes from Oldham Council as part of its campaign ‘Christmas In Oldham’ to highlight what the borough has to offer during the festive period.

Council Leader Sean Fielding said: “If, like me, you still have a few bits and bobs to buy before Christmas, Oldham really is the place to be. With an array of high-quality shops and stalls, why travel all that way to places like the Trafford Centre to get your shopping done when everything you need is here on your doorstep.

“So come in to town, do your last-minute shopping and when you’ve got everything you need, be sure to enjoy Oldham’s bars, eateries and attractions too – an option you won’t get if you’re shopping online.

“To make this an even greater experience, we have our excellent free parking perks at the weekend – so there really is no excuse not to shop local this Christmas.

“Don’t forget to visit your local districts either, with an endless list of wonderful activities taking place over the holidays from Failsworth to Saddleworth.”
