Failsworth driver more than twice over limit banned

Tameside magistrates have banned a Failsworth driver from the road for 20 months.

James Pearson pleaded guilty to a charge of being more than two times over the legal drink drive limit when he was stopped in October last year.

He admitted the offence, the court hearing he was found to have 96 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Magistrates fined him £484, plus ordered him to pay £85 court costs and pay a victim surcharge of £48.

The driving disqualification can be reduced by 20 weeks if a driving course is satisfactorily completed.

His address was given as Evening Street, Failsworth.
