Chadderton missed the chance to solidify their strong start to the season as they lost 2-1 at home to Holker Old Boys.

Chadderton missed the chance to solidify their strong start to the season as they lost 2-1 at home to Holker Old Boys. It came after a superb 2-1 win for Chadderton away at Pilkington FC.

Holker got off to a terrific start after just five minutes when Tyler Wood put the away side in front with a delicate finish. The match started with intensity and both teams saw plenty of the ball and had multiple chances.

Chadderton capitalised on a spell of possession to draw level after Jack Turnbull slotted in on the 38th minute much to the delight of manager David Finch. Both sides went in at the break level at 1-1.

Holker’s fast starts were a menace for Chadderton as just after the restart the away side were ahead after Brandon Collins finished well in the 48th minute.

The game carried on to be a tight affair and both teams squandered some good openings but it finished with Chadderton losing out 2-1 to worthy winners in Holker Old Boys.

It’s not the result that Chadderton wanted but they have still endured a better start than last season and manager David Fish acknowledged that their opponents deserved the win.

Next up for Chadderton, they welcome Prestwich Heys at home this Tuesday (20th August) at the ARK Fleetech Stadium with a 7:45 PM kick-off.
