Use your local knowledge to help the fire service

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service wants to hear from local people to use their knowledge of the county to ensure all risks are covered in its planning.

Every three years, the authority undertakes a Service Delivery and Risk Review to identify all current, new and emerging risks that exist within the county so that the service can plan its work and services.

DFRS uses a wide range of data including analysis of incident data, Office of National Statistics and Census data, and prevention and protection activities alongside other external datasets including the Local Resilience Forum Risk Matrix, to identify new and emerging trends.

A Community Risk Management Plan, named 'Our Plan', is then produced which sets out how Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service will address these risks.

The planning process is starting again this spring, ready for launching 'Our Plan 2023-2026' early next year.

The fire service is seeking people to come forward, using their local knowledge to ensure all local risks have been identified.

There’s an online survey that can be filled out here: https://snapweb.derbys-fire.gov.uk/snapwebhost/nojs_s.asp?sid=6d25981139c74ee58c84eea08d7e79bd&pid=88ca8eb5754f468bacf8cd5f3fbe79c8&k=164734104616

The survey can be completed on computers, smart phones, and tablets.

Group Manager Darren Pick said: "A huge amount of planning and analysis of data goes into identifying risks across Derbyshire so that the Service can produce a Plan that sets out how we will continue to Make Derbyshire Safer Together.

“While the data we use is comprehensive, we recognise that local people, with local knowledge may have insight that we haven’t identified. Therefore, we are encouraging people from communities across Derbyshire to take a few minutes to complete our short ‘have we got it covered’ survey. All surveys are completed anonymously, and all of the findings will be fed into the Services analysis that will inform the 2023-2026 Plan."
