Three men fined after police stop 'suspicious' vehicle

Three people were fined for breaching Covid-19 rules after police stopped an uninsured vehicle in Chinley.

Officers from Buxton and Chapel Safer Neighbourhood Team stopped 'a suspicious vehicle' with three men inside on Wednesday evening (17 February).

Police say it wasn't insured after checking the national insurance database and the driver didn't hold a valid driving licence either.

They added: "Our Buxton Response colleagues seized the vehicle and had it taken away for having no valid road insurance.

"Three COVID-19 breach tickets were issued for contravening the national guidelines and the driver will be receiving points and a fine in the post.

"All were sent on a nice walk home."
