School of Rock taster sessions in the High Peak

A School of Rock has been launched by High Peak charity Zink to bring people together and learn new skills.

Being held at their new HQ in Buxton it is hoped it will become a regular feature not just at Zinc but also other locations across the borough.

Taster sessions are being held at 11am on Monday 6th December or 1pm on Friday 10th December at Zink HQ in Buxton.

Paul Bohan, CEO at Zink, said the idea came from research undertaken on behalf of the charity by students from Sheffield University.

“The students looked into activities that were useful in creating better wellbeing in communities, music was one idea that was put forward.

“We spoke to local musician, Kenny Robertson, who was keen to get involved and we’re looking forward to launch in January.”

The initiative is being funded by the Lottery Community Fund with instruments provided by charity 'Music for All'.
