Public meeting about alternative plans to A57 Link Roads scheme

A meeting entitled 'Bikes, Buses and Heavy Lorry Bans' is being held for people to find out about alternative plans to the A57 Link Roads scheme.

It will take place on Wednesday (2 November) at 7.30pm at Central Methodist Church on Chapel Street in Glossop.

Speakers will include county councillor Ruth George, ex-Head of Investment for Transport for the North Jim Bamford and CPRE (The Countryside Charity) campaigner Anne Robinson.

Local Green campaigners have been knocking on doors in Glossop, Hollingworth and Tintwistle to talk to residents about their views on the plans for the A57 Link Roads.

A petition will be delivered to the new Transport Secretary Mark Harper this week before a final decision on the scheme is made by the government in November.
