School places for September have been revealed for thousands of primary aged children.

Almost 99.9 per cent of applications made by parents for their child’s primary, infant or junior school places were made online.

Most have received their first choice school 94.1 per cent for reception and 96.6 per cent for junior schools, with 98.2 per cent of reception and 98 per cent of junior applications being offered a place at one of their three preferred schools.

Derbyshire County Council said parents will receive and email today or can log on to the council’s website using their user ID. Letters have also been sent out today to parents who didn’t provide an email address.

DCC’s Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Alex Dale, said: “I’d like to thank everyone who applied for their child’s place on time and to our school admissions and transport team for processing over 11,150 applications.

“We’re committed to giving children in Derbyshire the very best start in life and we’re pleased that we were able to offer most local children their first-choice reception or junior school places.

“If you still haven’t applied for your child’s place, please get in touch with our school admissions and transport team as soon as possible.”

Parents who have not been offered a place at their preferred school have the right of appeal to an independent panel. Information on how to appeal is available online by visiting www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions

Anyone who hasn’t already made an application should do so urgently by using the late application facility at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions or Call Derbyshire on 01629 533190 between 8am-6pm on weekdays and 9.30am-4pm on Saturday.
