ITV drama After the Flood filming locations revealed

The hit ITV drama series, ‘After the Flood’ has been on the nation's screens over the past few weeks and viewers have been noticing all local landmarks.

After the Flood is a mystery thriller set in a town hit by a devastating flood. When an unidentified man is found dead in a lift in an underground car park, police assume he became trapped as the waters rose. The floods threaten to expose secrets, and fortunes and reputations are at stake.

The drama is written by BAFTA nominated writer and actor Mick Ford and stars Sophie Rundle (from Gentleman Jack, Peaky Blinders), Nicholas Gleaves (The Crown, TheRising, Bodyguard), Phillip Glenister (from Belgravia, Life on Mars) and Jonas Armstrong (The Bay, Floodlights).

As the investigation unfolds PC Joanna Marshall, played by Sophie Rundle, becomes obsessed with discovering what happened to him and why. The mystery continues to unfold across the series while we also see the real impact of climate change on the lives of residents in this small town.

Local residents have been spotting local landmarks in the area, here the locations that have been spotted throughout the series:

- The old Natwest building in Norfolk Square, this building was used as the Waterside police station in the series.

- The streets of Old Glossop have been used as the backdrop for the series, especially for the scenes that showcase the damage of the flood. However, production created a purpose-built set near the Trafford Centre. They then built  20 stone terrace houses that were made out of plasterboard to emulate those in Glossop. These were then filled with a rubber lining which were filled with water to create the flood effect.

- Stockport Market was used with exterior and interior shots. The police in the show also found a body in an old underground car park in Stockport.

- The opening scene for the show was shot at a house in Bury. Producers have said many of the houses used in the series were actually in Oldham, Rochdale and in Glossop.

- The Rake Tapas in Littleborough was used as a hotel in the series.

- Bury Town Hall is used as the council chambers and a hilltop farm in Rochdale was also used in a key storyline.
